I'm Tim Dross, and I'll be your host here in the Control Centre twice weekly, bringing you up to date with all the latest happenings in the ring wars. In today's update, I'll be bringing you: - programming details for the IIWF network - announcements concerning the first IIWF PPV, which is less than two weeks away! - news on the IIWF Intercontinental Championship and much more! So let's get straight to it... IIWF Scheduling ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Just a quick programming note for you all. Here's how the week looks as far as IIWF coverage goes: Saturday: IIWF Saturday Night - our main show of the week. Tuesday: IIWF Report - bringing you up to speed on what's been going on since the last card. Wednesday: IIWF Midweek Mayhem - starting in a few weeks, we'll also be having a midweek card. Friday: IIWF Report - with a preview of the weekend's card. Plus, of course, we will be holding PPV spectaculars on roughly a six-week rotation, beginning next weekend with our very first event, IIWF Coronation Clash! We'll have a whole lot more on that one later in the Report, but for now let's run down the preliminary schedule for the next few months: May 19: IIWF Coronation Clash June 29: IIWF Ring Wars I August 10: IIWF Midsummer Madness September 21: IIWF Ring Wars II November 3: IIWF Armageddon We'll be bringing you details on each of these events as and when we get them, but for now we have plenty to talk about as it is... IIWF Coronation Clash Update ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Twenty-four men. One IIWF World Heavyweight Champion! Yes, folks, in just over one week's time, we're going to see the most spectacular event in wrestling history! 24 of the finest athletes in the world today will battle it out in a single elimination tournament to decide the three finalists, who then battle in a no holds barred triangle match. The last man standing will be crowned the first IIWF Champion. Plus the IIWF World Tag Team Champions will also be crowned in a double Battle Royal match, the survivors from each Battle Royal then going on to face each other in the final clash for the gold! Let's talk about the Championship tournament. The tournament will take place with three brackets, the eventual winner of each bracket going on to participate in the triangle match - that's four matches in the same night! Although the brackets won't be released by the IIWF front office until next week, I can run down some of the participants who are already signed up for the tournament: "Bodybag" Brad Kinder (h) - one of the Horsemen, this man is always in contention, no matter which fed you're talking about. Subway Psycho (f) - a former world champion, the Psycho will be going into the tournament determined to clinch a second reign. Outlaw (h) - returning from the Prairies, and meaner than ever, the Outlaw is another of the early favourites, especially with the weight of the Horsemen behind him. Deathbringer (n) - the man from the Dark Side plans to stalk his way to becoming the first IIWF Champion. Billy Shakespeare (f) - will "Spotlight" put on the performance of his life and make it through all four acts? Only time will tell... Don Antonio (f) - direct from Sicily, Italy, this mobster will be planning to make a big impact here in the IIWF. Altair (f) - with the Senator behind him, this big man could well have what it takes. "Green Giant" Jack Haley (f) - currently the biggest man entered into the tournament. But will the Giant have the stamina to go all the way? There will be many more fantastic athletes entering the tournament over the next week. We'll bring you news of more entrants, plus the bracketing, as and when we get word from the front office. What about the tag teams who'll be battling it out for the IIWF World Tag Team Championship? Five teams have already signed on the dotted line. Let's run them down: High Plains Drifters (h) - cowboy wannabes? Maybe. Great athletes? Definitely! With their combination of strength and speed, they're ones to watch in this one. High Velocity (f) - under the guidance of the Senator, this team will be putting the pedal to the metal in the battle royal. Let's just hope they don't hit the wall. United Nations (f) - the Frenchman Jacques K. Vorkian and the Japanese Tora Tora Tora may be an unlikely alliance, but when they're in the ring, they could be brothers. Alphabet Boys (h) - Abie and Zed are possibly the most unbalanced athletes in the IIWF to date. They might even turn on each other in the Battle Royal! Steamroller (n) - Taylor and Brassow have proven in the past that they have what it takes to get to the top, but can they recapture old form and win out on May 18? With the fate of two titles to be decided, IIWF Coronation Clash looks to be the most exciting PPV event of all time! Order from your local cable operator right now! Forthcoming Events ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In the aftermath of Coronation Clash, on the following weekend's card the fate of the IIWF Intercontinental Championship will be decided in a Battle Royal. We'll have more on this exciting matchup in the weeks to come.
