The lights rise and the shot zooms in on Tim.] Hello again, fans! Welcome to Tokyo, Japan, and another informative edition of "Inside the IIWF." I'm your host, Tim Dross, and events continue to unfold as we near the conclusion of the current world tour and enter the daily countdown to Snow Brawl. We have plenty to discuss during tonight's report, including TWO changes to the Snow Brawl card, the heinous attack Saturday night on the Subway Psycho, more on the suspension of Steve "The Fury" Kowalski, and an up close and personal interview with The Alphabet Boys. But first, let's run down all of the results from Saturday's card: * AMERICAN PATRIOT def. THE MASKED MARAUDER * CHESHIRE def. MR. DAMAGE * THE ARABIAN KNIGHTS def. RISING SUN REVOLUTION * CHRIS QUIGLEY def. CREED * TIGER CLAW def. DIRT DOG UNIQUE ALLAH * DOMINATION def. HIGH PLAINS DRIFTERS * HAKIRO MATSUOKO def. RONNIE PARIS * OTTO VERHOEVEN def. THE SUBWAY PSYCHO * NO CONTEST: TAKEZO MUSASHI vs. DAN KAUFFMAN * DOUBLE COUNTOUT: STUD STETSON vs. SERGE ANNIS ************************************************************************** ---------------- TIM DROSS INSIDE THE SQUARED CIRCLE -------------------- ************************************************************************** SUBWAY IS DE-RAILED... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Subway Psycho entered The Kohl Center in Berlin Saturday night hoping to find a way to remove Mistress Sasha from her "Valet Match" with Nurse Heidi at Snow Brawl. The Psycho felt that a victory over Otto Verhoeven would give him the leverage he needed to cancel the "Valet Match" and he arranged for Sasha's father, Frederick Dornow, a noted German wrestler from the 1950s and 1960s, to be at ringside for the match. Perhaps the Psycho was reaching for the moon, but his strategy forced him and all around him to come crashing to the ground. It is my understanding that even a Psycho victory would not have been enough to cancel the "Valet Match" at Snow Brawl because a contract has been signed. Verhoeven, who was kicked out of Dornow's wrestling academy as a young wrestler, seemed more motivated than ever after seeing his former mentor at ringside. And finally, three... beasts, for lack of a better word... Tobias Teufel, The Neanderthal, and Karl "The Krippler" Kruger charged to the ring after the match and inflicted further damage on the Psycho. There seemed a slight glimmer of hope for the Subway Psycho and Mistress Sasha last week. But today, the Psycho's injuries are still healing and he will be paired with Mad Dog Watkins in the Lethal Lottery at Snow Brawl, Dornow is a broken man, and Sasha has just four days before stepping into the ring with the dangerous Nurse Heidi. CH... CH... CH... CHANGES.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Not only did IIWF President Dan Spreadbury announce the pairing for the Snow Brawl Lethal Lottery, but he also announced two changes to the Snow Brawl card. After meeting with Poutine Janois and the IIWF Special Concerns Committee, Spreadbury decided to add Takezo Musashi to the IIWF Cruiserweight Championship match between Hakiro Matsuoko and Tiger Claw, thus making it a triangle match. Also, The Armed Forces have been added to the IIWF Tag Team Championship match between the High Plains Drifters and Rising Sun Revolution, making that another triangle match. Obviously, Tiger Claw is not pleased with the addition of Musashi to the Cruiserweight title match, but sources tell me that the decision to add Musashi was a last-minute one -- made after Tiger Claw interfered in Musashi's matchup Saturday with Dan Kauffman. In essence, Tiger Claw has no one to blame except himself. Now I despise talking about the politics of any industry or corporation, but I understand that the decision to admit The Armed Forces to the IIWF Tag Team Championship match was actually a political move by Spreadbury and the IIWF Special Concerns Committee to make amends for Rising Sun Revolution being allowed to compete in the title match at Ring Wars II. The powers that be may never admit to it, but that's what I understand. I had an opportunity to speak with Aaron the Caddy after Saturday's show and he was obviously pleased with the decision to add the Armed Forces to the title match. He called Spreadbury's decision "noble" and "proper," but I'm not sure Aaron knows the meaning of those words. Aaron, who will be barred from ringside during the match, also said is arranging for 400 Air Force men to fly from Nebraska to Alaska to witness Snow Brawl. All I can say, with my tongue planted firmly in my cheek, is "what a guy." SUSPENDERS AND SUSPENDEES... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We are nearly a week into Steve "The Fury" Kowalski's suspension for attacking "Nifty" Ned Norton and threatening IIWF President Dan Spreadbury last week in Rome. You'll recall that Kowalski was sent home immediately from the tour and his booked matches were assigned to other wrestlers. I've a feeling that Kowalski has learned absolutely nothing from the suspension and fine slapped on him last week -- and I have no doubt that it was Kowalski who mailed me a dead rat over the weekend with the name "Shakespeare" hanging around its neck. Kowalski will return to action this weekend at Snow Brawl when he teams with Otto "The Butcher" Verhoeven, and his chances are good of making it to the Lethal Lottery battle royal. Kowalski has something to prove, and the Lethal Lottery is the type of platform he enjoys. FOR MEMBERS ONLY... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The members of The Players' Club had some stern words for the rest of the IIWF Saturday night, but Dynamite and Reyna's most interesting comments may have been directed toward IIWF World Heavyweight Champion Dan Kauffman. We all know that Kauffman is a bona fide member of The Players' Club, but he has not been seen with Dynamite and Reyna since their first week in the IIWF. Granted, Kauffman has been busy defending his title and exorcising personal demons, but TPC seems to believe that Kauffman put them on the back burner when they struggled in the IIWF. Thanks to Casey James we know Dan Kauffman is a briefs man, but is he also a fair weather friend? It doesn't sound like Dan, but his cold shoulder is also difficult to explain. STETSON'S SNOW BRAWL SURPRISE... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Superstar" Stud Stetson continues to insist that he will have a big surprise for everyone Saturday at Snow Brawl. I, for one, don't look forward to Stetson's surprises because they usually result in someone being injured... and more often than not, Marty Warnett is on the receiving end. Those two have been at each other's throats, but they'll have to settle their differences in their preliminary match because only ONE will advance to the Lethal Lottery battle royal. Will Stetson's surprise come during that match? I don't know, fans. This has been a well-kept secret. BILLY SEXTON UPDATE... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Fans, it's been three days since I received news of "Painbringer" Billy Sexton's head-on collision with another car near Bonn, Germany. The disturbing news is that no one in the IIWF has heard from Sexton since the accident, nor has he contacted German officials. Although Sexton was not believed to be seriously injured in the accident, he missed the IIWF's chartered flight to Japan. Some wrestlers believe Sexton is running scared because his car was rented for him by the IIWF -- and the car which struck him was driven by a IIWF intern... with, shall we say, "suspicious" items inside. Sexton has, for the past month, believed that IIWF officials and Billy Shakespeare are conspiring against him. No one can be sure, however, if Sexton will appear in Alaska for his title shot against Shakespeare at Snow Brawl. This is a match Sexton has wanted for months and it seems odd that he would pass up an opportunity to win the IIWF Intercontinental Championship. The biggest indicator may come tomorrow night, when Sexton is scheduled to meet a resurgent "Quickstrike" Chris Quigley. Has Sexton made alternative travel arrangements to be here in Tokyo? We'll find out tomorrow night, and we'll have a further update in Friday's show. ************************************************************************** --------------- UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL: THE ALPHABET BOYS ---------------- ************************************************************************** [Cut to Tim's interview area. He sits next to The Alphabet Boys, who are wearing Rising Sun Revolution t-shirts that are much too small for them. Abie seems more interested in counting the holes in the ceiling tiles.] TD: Today I interview probably two of the most mysterious tag team wrestlers in the IIWF. Mysterious not in their demeanor, but rather their motivations. I hope to shed some light upon that puzzling partnership known as the Alphabet Boys. I also hope to prove to Becky LaRue that a competent journalist _can_ get a useful interview from even the most difficult subjects. [Tim turns toward Abie and Zed.] TD: Unpredictability has always been synonymous with the Alphabet Boys. Why is that? [Abie and Zed stare blankly at him.] TD: You do understand the question? ABIE: Synonymous? TD: Sigh. What makes you so different? ZED: Abie got a tattoo. ABIE: Yeah. TD: What motivates the Alphabet Boys? ZED: Abie got a tattoo. ABIE: Yeah. TD: Alright, I'll play your game. What's with the tattoo? ABIE: It's a picture of Hiroshi and Ryudo. TD: Rising Sun Revolution. ZED: [suddenly irked] Say that with respect! TD: [ignoring him] What is this between Rising Sun and yourselves? ABIE: They're our new heroes. ZED: We want to be just like them. We want to be their friends. We want them to show us how to be the best. ABIE: And Domination... you stay away from them. They're OUR friends. TD: But you cost them their match last Saturday. ZED: And we're really, really sorry about that. Abie wrote a poem. ABIE: Rising Sun, Rising Sun, we're really sorry about what we done. Rising Sun, Rising Sun, we won't do it again. TD: That doesn't rhyme. ABIE: We won't do it agone? ZED: Tim, will you give them these flowers as an apology? [ZED shoves a handful of flowers, roots intact, at Tim. Dirt drops on Tim's suit.] ZED: To show how sorry we are, Rising Sun, we want to fight the Arabian Guys and beat them for you. ABIE: And then we want to fight the High Plains Drifters and win you the belts. TD: The championship belts are not transferable. ZED: No? TD: No. ZED: Then we'll get them those neat belts that the Drifters got at the Golden Grapple Awards. TD: Those aren't official belts. ABIE: No? TD: No. ZED: We'll get them anyway. TD: Are those the only teams you're looking to go after? ZED: All these new teams have us very confused. Are they all devil worshipping wild men with animal names? TD: No, it just seems that way. ZED: And we like those Harley guys we just fought. The big guy reminds us of ourselves. And Cheshire makes Abie laugh. ABIE: [Pointing to his arm] I got a tattoo. TD: Have you ever thought of getting a manager? ABIE: Like the dwarf with the hockey sticks with Armed Forces? ZED: Shut up. I'll answer this question. ABIE: Make me. [ZED slaps Abie who is so shocked he remains silent.] ZED: We don't need a manager. If we fight everyone Rising Sun fights, we'll be champions. TD: What quirk of fate got you two together? ZED: Abie got a tattoo. Right Abie? [Abie is pouting and refuses to reply.] TD: So I heard. About the question...? ZED: I dunno. TD: Your name. Surely you know how you got your name? ZED: Did you call me Shirley? TD: No. ZED: You did. I heard you. You called me Shirley. ABIE: Shirley... Shirley... Shirley! ZED: Quit that! ABIE: Make me. [This time Abie is ready for the attack. He catches Zed in a side headlock and delivers a series of knuckle-shots to the forehead. Zed lifts him, then plants him down on his knee for a spinebuster. Tim Dross signals off camera, and immediately technicians arrive, spraying down the two with water-filled fire extinguishers, driving Abie and Zed away. Tim walks back over to the main studio desk.] ************************************************************************** ---------------------- WEDNESDAY NIGHT PREVIEW ------------------------- ************************************************************************** We have more great matches coming up tomorrow night from the Tokyo Egg Dome as the IIWF's stars make one final stop before crossing the ocean for Snow Brawl. He surely won't be 100 percent at Snow Brawl. *********************** CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPION *********************** HAKIRO MATSUOKO RECORD: 15-10-1 WIN %: .600 STREAK: Won two His rematch with Tiger Claw at Snow Brawl is now a triangle match which includes Takezo Musashi. That makes this title defense twice as difficult. RANKINGS BY WINNING PERCENTAGE: 1. DEATHBRINGER RECORD: 19-3-2 WIN %: .864 STREAK: Won four He has a chance to recapture the IIWF Championship at Snow Brawl against Dan Kauffman in what should be another classic battle. 2. BRODY THUNDER RECORD: 5-1-1 WIN %: .833 STREAK: Lost one He desperately wants a shot at Casey James -- but now he and James are teammates at Snow Brawl. Can they work together? 3. THE WHITE PHOENIX RECORD: 11-3-0 WIN %: .786 STREAK: Won two Anxious to turn in a good showing at Snow Brawl before taking a sabbatical until mid-January. 4. CHRIS QUIGLEY RECORD: 10-3-0 WIN %: .769 STREAK: Won three New attitude has made others in the IIWF sit up and take notice. Turned down the match with Deathbringer to participate in the Snow Brawl Lethal Lottery and must be made an early favorite in that event. 5. OTTO "THE BUTCHER" VERHOEVEN RECORD: 12-4-1 WIN %: .750 STREAK: Won one Big win over the Subway Psycho Saturday night in Germany, but suffered an injured knee in the melee. That could hurt his chances in the Lethal Lottery. "THE ENIGMA" TAKEZO MUSASHI RECORD: 15-5-1 WIN %: .750 STREAK: One No Contest Big boost being named part of the IIWF Cruiserweight Championship match at Snow Brawl. The Enigma could leave Alaska with a title belt. 7. STEVE KOWALSKI RECORD: 7-3-0 WIN %: .700 STREAK: Won one His suspension ends on Saturday and he will be ready to do some damage. Those two must put their problems aside if they hope to advance. 12. "PAINBRINGER" BILLY SEXTON RECORD: 14-8-0 WIN %: .636 STREAK: Lost one Rumors abound after his automobile accident. Will he be in any shape to wrestle at Snow Brawl -- or will he even show up at Snow Brawl? 13. VENUSIAN DEATH CELL RECORD: 6-4-0 WIN %: .600 STREAK: Lost one Erratic performer. He seemed to wrestle better under the direction of a manager, but who could manage such a maniac? Whispers in the locker room suggest an old stable might be reformed with the Cell involved... STUD STETSON RECORD: 3-2-2 WIN %: .600 STREAK: One double countout Says he has a surprise at Snow Brawl. Does it involve Marty Warnett? THE SANDMAN RECORD: 12-8-0 WIN %: .600 STREAK: Won one Swore off partners, but is now teamed with Creed in the Lethal Lottery. 18.
